I DON'T THINK WE START
WITH THE WHOLE INTERNET.
We don't need every feature finished. We don't need every economic detail finalized. And we don't need to convince thousands of people that every assumption we've made is right.
I THINK WE START
WITH THE RIGHT PEOPLE.
We need enough of the experience working to put it in front of real Hosts, customers, leaders and connectors... and watch what they actually do.
BIG ENOUGH TO GET REAL DATA.
WAVE
WE DON'T HAVE TO CHANGE THE COMPANY.
WE CAN TEST THE CHANNEL.
You may want to grow the platform directly.
You may use paid advertising.
You may build strategic partnerships.
Marketplace discovery could eventually become important.
And there may be other growth channels you want to pursue that we haven't even discussed.
NOT A NEW LIMIT ON THE OTHERS.
A REAL MARKET TEST
NEEDS ALL SIDES OF THE MARKET.
Not just people interested in a distribution opportunity. We need the people who actually create and use the platform economy.
PEOPLE WHO ALREADY HAVE VALUE TO OFFER.
Creators. Coaches. Consultants. Trainers. Teachers. Business owners. Professionals. People with expertise, audiences or access.
IT'S TO TEST THE PLATFORM.
LET THE RIGHT PEOPLE
SEE IT EARLY.
Over the years I've built relationships with leaders, marketers, entrepreneurs, business owners and people with organizations and audiences of their own.
I wouldn't blast this everywhere.
I'd start by privately showing it to a small number of people I respect and think could actually help us learn something.
Start with the technology and the core capability.
Meetings. Access. Training. Hosts. Organizations.
Paid sessions and other potential product experiences.
Customers. Creators. Teams. Communities.
If someone helps introduce valuable people, there may also be a way to participate in the economics those relationships help create.
DISTRIBUTION SECOND.
THE GOAL ISN'T SIGNUPS.
THE GOAL IS USAGE.
Someone creating an account doesn't tell us much. Someone actually using the product does.
REPEAT USAGE IS A SIGNAL.
THE MARKET STARTS
ANSWERING THE QUESTIONS FOR US.
We don't need fake projections. We need a scorecard that tells us whether people are actually creating and returning to real platform activity.
We can go deeper into session types, Host categories, acquisition source, repeat bookings, organization usage and unit economics as the data develops. But these seven tell us whether we're creating something people actually use.
EVERY WAVE
SHOULD MAKE THE NEXT ONE BETTER.
Maybe one Host category takes off and another doesn't.
Maybe recordings become a major retention driver.
Maybe organizations use the platform differently than creators.
Maybe the working Pro price is right. Maybe it isn't.
Maybe relationship-driven distribution becomes a major channel.
Maybe it works best alongside paid acquisition.
We don't need to pretend we know all of that today.
WHAT DESERVES TO GET BIGGER.
WE'D BE BRINGING
DIFFERENT THINGS TO THE TABLE.
YOU BUILT THE TECHNOLOGY.
The product foundation we're talking about testing already exists because you created it.
I CAN HELP US GET IT
IN FRONT OF THE RIGHT PEOPLE.
This is naturally where my brain goes: who should see it, how we explain it, how we get the first people using it and what their behavior tells us.
Then we decide what deserves to come next.
THE ACTUAL QUESTION
IS PRETTY SIMPLE.
George,
I'm not asking you to change everything you're building.
I'm asking if you'd be open to us testing a Partner-driven distribution channel with a market and relationships I can bring.
You already built the technology.
I can help us put it in front of the right people, get the first wave moving and listen closely to what the market tells us.
We test it.
We measure what happens.
We learn.
And if it works, we'll have something real to build on together.
The more I thought about what you built...
Hosts connecting with customers.
Experts connecting with people who need them.
Leaders connecting with organizations.
Relationships creating introductions.
Conversations creating knowledge people can come back to.
The more one idea kept sticking with me.
LYNKED UP
Just a name I've been sitting on that I think might fit what you've built really well.
And there's one other reason I wanted to show it to you.
I already happen to own the domain.
I don't know if it's the name.
But after everything we just walked through, I think it might be worth considering.
